FILTER @ PARKLICHT

BB15 ARTIST IN RESIDENCE

From December 1st until December 14th I stayed at bb15 in Linz, Austria [http://bb15.at/]. The residency included a workshop with a collective performance, developing a new composition with graphic score and a performance of this composition.

Some pictures to give an impression of the space:

ARCHED SCORE

Instead of playing the composition that I had developed from paper, I decided to draw the symbols on the ceiling arches. The symbols refer to presets of my self-built instruments.

∆∏ ̇·\^¬ Devices COLLECTIVE WORKSHOP PERFORMANCE

Live recording of a collective performance on December 12th, 2017 at bb15 (Linz, Austria). This performance was part of a workshop at bb15 where participants built an Arduino-based synthesizer. During the two-day workshop participants designed, soldered and programmed a sound-device, after which we collectively came up with a semi-structured, improvised performance.

∆∏ ̇·\^¬ DEVICES WORKSHOP

Workshop and collective performance hosted at bb15 in Linz, Austria [http://bb15.at/] on December 8th and 9th, with a performance on December 12th.

During the '∆∏ ̇·\^¬ Devices' workshop the participants built an instrument based on Arduino [https://www.arduino.cc/], the sound is generated using Mozzi [http://sensorium.github.io/Mozzi/], which is a sound synthesis software library for Arduino. Next to designing and building a working prototype, we played with interface design, physical tonal layouts for melodic scores and collective performance methods. After everyone developed a working prototype, we performed a roughly composed piece with our instruments.

On the first afternoon we designed interfaces and assembled the electronics. On the second day we programmed our instruments and practiced our collective performance.
